In DealSignal, suppression refers to the process of excluding specific contacts or companies from your final verification results. To use suppression you need to upload a suppression file into the suppression list.
Here is how to add and manage this list for contacts.
Add the Contact Suppression File
To add a new suppression file, follow these steps:
Open the Settings page in the main top menu and navigate to the Suppression tab.
In the Master contact suppression list section, click on the "Upload Suppression File" button, and in the default OS file selection window, choose the relevant CSV file on your computer and upload it.
βImportant note: The CSV file should contain a column with the contact's corporate email dataOnce the file is uploaded system will suggest you match the CSV fields to the DealSignal fields. You need to map the column with the contact's corporate email in your CSV to the "Email" field in DealSignal.
Once ready, click on the Save Mappings and Update Suppression List button. Your suppression file will be successfully uploaded to the system.
Update the Contact Suppression File (append records)
To update your suppression list by adding more records, follow steps identical to adding a new file:
Open the Settings page in the main top menu and navigate to the Suppression tab.
βIn the Master contact suppression list section, click on the "Upload & Merge Into Master Suppression List" button, and in the default OS file selection window, choose the relevant CSV file on your computer and upload it.
βImportant note: The CSV file should contain a column with the contact's corporate email data
βOnce the file is uploaded system will suggest you match the CSV fields to the DealSignal fields. You need to map the column with the contact's corporate email in your CSV to the "Email" field in DealSignal.
Once ready, click on the "Save Mappings and Update Suppression List" button. Your new suppression file will be successfully uploaded to the system and will append records to the existing suppression list. A notification will confirm that your suppression file was successfully updated.
Delete the Contact Suppression List
To delete a suppression list completely, follow these steps:
Open the Settings page in the main top menu and navigate to the Suppression tab.
In the Master contact suppression list section, click on the three dots next to the suppression list and select "Delete Suppression File".
Confirm the deletion in the pop-up dialog. Note that this action is irreversible.
